Sentient Expert Query prepares queries that efficiently search upwards of 100 web-interfaced life science databases. Whether you routinely use one or many of these databases, Sentient Expert Query accelerates your research by enabling you to save, refine, and reuse queries rather than manually entering each query each time you search.

Let’s make one thing clear: Sentient Expert Query is not a web-search tool like Google, which searches HTML-based web pages rather than the actual databases. Web-search tools excel at finding every place on the web where, for example, the text string “protein related to cancer” appears. But these tools can’t help scientists locate which peer-reviewed proteomics databases contain information on a particular protein sequence related to a specific disease.

Sentient Expert Query searches only web-based databases, ensuring that every search returns scientifically relevant results. Scientists enter the search terms (such as journal title, author, protein sequence, etc.) in the Sentient interface, and, with a single-click, Sentient Expert Query submits the query to over 100 databases and returns the relevant responses. Sentient Expert Query knows the required syntax for each database it accesses—like a translator, it takes your question and puts it in the right language to get the answers you need. Most importantly, answers can come from the same source or multiple sources, enabling you to benefit from the accumulated knowledge in your field.

With Sentient Expert Query, you can be confident that you quickly and comprehensively searched the high quality scientific databases related to your discipline—not just any old web page.
